It happens to me all the time. I will just meet someone and 5 minutes later, I know their life history. I have always thought people tell me the craziest things.

Lol...join the crowd. But you need to understand they see something in you that makes them feel at ease. Use your skills to help them if you can. You may just have information to assist them. I found that and have helped many people over the years. At first I thought it weird, but then I went into the field of psychology and could better deal with them.

Also, some people have wishy-washy boundries, they may need some one to talk to and will tell things to the first one they feel comfortable with...not wise, but it is done often. Again, you have an opportunity to help if you can.

Be kind, listen carefully, maybe you have some important life changing information for them!

Oh my goodness, I have the same problem. I can't imagine telling people some of the things they tell me. The other day I called the mother of my seven year old sons friend to see if he could come with us on an outing. During this conversation, being the first time I spoke with her mind you, she is telling me all about how her husband and her are headed for divorce. I was just in awe that she would tell me and then how do you respond to that?

I'm glad to hear it's not just me!

I don't know for sure, but have a theory. They probably either get really comfortable with people and then feel like they need to share their life story in order to solidify the relationship, or they need to get it off their chest and try to get sympathy or something. I was training this one lady at my work, and she literally told me everything that happened to her since she was 16... she was 26. Some people need to learn to just hold it in a little bit more.

Its got me! Why?
Maybe they think the person REALLY would like to know more about them.
Then again maybe no one has bothered to listen to them before.
I really feel sorry for people like that.
And, I avoid them as much as possible.

Some people want to create a connection and some just need to talk. Thanks for being the clearing of listening for them. Peace.
