If we waited for every problem on earth to be solved before we explore Mars, or advance any other scientific project of importance, we'd never do anything. Ideally, the poor health system in America would be resolved AND space exploration would advance. (and pigs might fly :-)

Sorry, that would make sense. I have a feeling that when you start dealing with huge amounts of money and personal agendas of men with too much power and authority, you quit thinking about people on an individual scale. The human element is removed. Ego and the desire for new conquests has driven humans since the beginning of time. That's how they built the pyramids, discovered America, and landed on the moon. How many people died to make these accomplishments a reality? I cannot begin to imagine. The same thing continues to happen now. I worked in an emergency room and know the sad state of health care today. This is an example of something which is being sacrificed for the benefit of a "greater good."

For as long as there is illness there will be difficulties in paying for health care because society has different classes therefore different capabilities for what we can pay for, but as for space exploration...
it could save lives because of what could be discovered and who knows it isn't going to be a new discovery for an illness to help eliminate the health care problem.
Space exploration studies for many many things....we gotta keep researching in bid of improving the quality of life for mankind

Depends on what country you're talking about.
Won't happen in America. We're already in trouble with people claiming all the social security money, and Americans themselves are a tad bit greedy and have no will or want to pay for anything that will contribute to the better good if it actually costs them money.
Americans hate taxes of any sort. To support anything. Much less universal healthcare, which sounds a tad socalist.

You bet, were destroying this planet way beyond the point of repair even if we started to care for the emissions and nuclear waste right now and stopped producing such toxic earth waste. Were killing ourselves and starving ourselves also. We populating the planet so fast that soon there will be no more earth to support all of us eating like we do, were urban sprawling so bad that any land left will be just wasteland, Nobody is thinking of this because they are all too concerned with the money they are making to keep there wallets full for today. I think Mother Nature is going to inhale and exhale and when she does, the earth will see another great flood or tsunami to rid the earth of the infection it has called "people'. We just now have to find another planet to infect and destroy!!!!

Yes! I can afford health care, and frankly, I'm pretty sick of paying for health care for everybody else. I'd much rather invest my money in exploration and development in space.

No. That money should be used to help the people & seniors who can't afford or don't qualify for health care. The money would be well spent this way.

Yes. I have no problem with health care. If you do, get a better education so you can afford it.
