That would be absolutely impossible to answer with an exact number. First, if you mean insect species, there are many that are undiscovered. If you mean absolute total number of every insect, well, I don't know that anyone could even come close to a real estimate, let alone an actual number.

There are an estimated 20-30 million species of insects on the earth at present. About 920,000 species of insects in the world have scientific names. In a good year, taxonomists throughout the world describe and name about 2,000 species of insects.

At this rate of naming new species, it will take 10,000 years to describe and name 20 million species. Unfortunately, many of these 20-30 million species of insects will become extinct before they are named because of habitat loss and other environmental problems.

If there are as many insects in each species as their are human species, we would need to multiply the number of species by 6 billion.

20-30 million species = 120-180 quadrillion insects

I would say that even a conservative estimate would be around a quintillion. That is 10 to the power of 18 or written as a number 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 That is the best Scientific guess I can give you.
