You can find answers to these types of questions at the web site provided below. They have questions regarding radiation exposure that have been answered by qualified medical personnel.

"Brain CT is not likely to result in exposure to the unborn child because the radiation is directed only to the head. Therefore, the likelihood that radiation exposure may be responsible for malformations or birth defects is very unlikely. However, birth defects and other untoward pregnancy outcomes may occur in the absence of radiation. In the United States major birth defects occur at the rate of about 30 cases per 1,000 live births. Maternal health is also an important factor in determining risks of pregnancy. You may wish to discuss your pregnancy situation with your doctor in light of the reasons for brain CT."

Keep your appointment. They will be asking you if you are pregnant as normal protocol. You doctor should have known this when ordering it right??
They can often put a shield over you for most xrays. You baby at five months is for the most part developed, and that is the main reason they tell you to not get xrays on the newly forming fetus. As the exposure on parts that are developing can be harmed. There are not conclusive studies on fetus exposure only excessive exposures. So no one can really give you a definite answer on this. I have worked medical for 22 years and we have xrayed (MRI CT Scan)several fetuses and babies, no one has been injured from a single exposure so it would really need to be thought about by you and your physician and depends upon how bad you need to be evaluated for these migraines.

Good Luck with that hope you are well.

ask your radiologist.

At five months, your baby is more or less complete. You don't talk about deformities at this point. Maybe risk of developing cancer later in life.

However, your baby is far away from your brain. During the procedure, they will place a shield over your tummy. So, it is generally quite safe.

If you feel strongly about the CT, then you may benefit from an MRI instead. But, as I said, talk to your radiologist. Good luck.

I would talk to your doctor. They usually weight the risks against the benefits.
