I assume he wanted to be in his own band, "The Rolling Stones."
You know I too was very unhappy when Keith Moon left "The Beatles."
Also, haha can you remembered the time Jim Morrison set his guitar on fire? Great performance.

Whoever told you that, don't believe another word they say ever. Mick Jagger is the lead singer of the Rolling Stones and, to the best of my knowledge, has not left them. He was never in Led Zeppelin.
