Dont use Norton, McAfee or Trend if your system's processing speed is not so fast. Each one of them will slow down ur computer. I advice you to download AVG free antivirus software from www.grisoft.com or free Avast antivirus software from www.avast.com
If u think ur computer is affected by virus or if u want to run a precautionary scan, then visit http://safety.live.com (Microsoft's new launched website) and run a "Full Service Scan". It will detect and remove all the unwanted & harmful threats from ur computer. For future security, visit www.microsoft.com to download "Windows Defender beta 2" (antispyware software) & visit www.lavasoft.com for "Lavasoft Adaware SE" for adwares.
Once u have successfully installed these 3 softwares, nothing can harm ur pc. Ya, just a reminder, dont forget to download and install Windows Security Updates from www.microsoft.com (Windows Updates) if ur using Windows XP.
