I find that people on Yahoo Answers are really two kinds of people. Those who ask may be givers and the ones in need of help and those who answer may be into just claiming points and tend to be possesive. I decieded to become an asker :)

Nice to hear that you've become an asker. However, don't forget the third type of people - ones that just have an addiction to Yahoo Answers.

I don't agree with your finding askers to be givers and answerer's to be possessive.

Have you read the questions about alien sex with government buildings? And how to find your navel?

I tend to answer a lot because I am relatively old and have experience with a lot of things that people are asking about. Not to gain points. Asking questions would get me more points if that was what I was after.

I thought the large majority of askers were annoying little bored people that need attention. the answerers are the bored people that like to tell people what to think.

I'm the latter. but mainly because asking questions takes away 5 points for some retarded reason that I have yet to figure out. I have to make points. must save points and win over system.

I think there are more than 2 types of people on Yahoo Answers. Some of the people who answer question really want to help (the serious questions, anyway).

I'm both a giver and someone in need of help (aka feedback, advice) yeah, the points are fun to rack up.. But I love to share and receive helpful, truthful, accurate information. This is how we all grow!

I honestly try to answer questions to the best of my ability and expertise, but tend to give silly answers to silly questions. I like to think I'm giving good advise, or a little giggle. The points I get for answering are good, but I truly LOVE getting the best answer points.

I try to answer to the best of my ability and only questions I think I am qualified to answer. I try to be helpful. The pts don't matter to me that much. But I don't ask many questions. I save my q's for something I would really like advice on, not just asking random q's to have something to do. I don't know where that puts me.

does that make any difference in long run? to you, to yahoo community or to the varied desires of people? My sincere suggestion is ask when you want to, eat when you are hungry. Answer if you think you are right, do not vomit what is not digestable by you for some one else to consume.

im an answer-er...but only because in a time in my life where im so confused about things and need so much help getting through current issues...it feels good to be able to help someone else...in the form of an answer, regardless of what the question is.
