When I have my period I get severe cramps that are so bad that it affects my ability to do my everyday chores. At times I can't even get out of bed. I used to bleed a whole lot but now it's slowing a lot. I tried birth control to help with the problem but I had a bad reaction to it. I have no medical insurance and the health department clinic won't do the proper testing to see what's wrong. What else can I do? It's just total agony to have my period anymore. I've had this problem since I was about 22. I'm 29 now. Also anyone know what may cause this?

Tylenol, motrin, midol, I tried everything nothing helps the pain the slightest bit.

It could be this...i have it and i am in so much pain...

It is estimated that endometriosis affects between 10 and 15 percent of all women of reproductive age. It occurs when tissue similar to the tissue that lines the uterus (endometrium) grows in other areas of a woman's body. Although it is abnormal for endometrial tissue to grow outside of the uterus, endometriosis is not a form of cancer.

Endometriosis can occur at any time after puberty. It is most commonly diagnosed in a woman's twenties or early thirties although it can develop at any stage during a woman's reproductive years. A woman can even experience endometriosis after menopause, although this is less common.

Although it is possible to have endometriosis without symptoms, the condition often causes painful periods and other pain symptoms. Endometriosis may be associated with chronic pelvic pain and the inability to get pregnant.

Symptoms of endometriosis include:

painful periods
painful sex
painful bowel movements
irritability
depression
fatigue
heavy or irregular bleeding
nausea/dizziness
diarrhea/constipation

The cause of endometriosis is not known. There are however several theories. The leading theory, at present, links endometriosis to a problem with the immune system. A weakness in the immune system may allow endometrial tissue to take root and grow outside the uterus in women with endometriosis.

Endometriosis is treated in several ways. Because each woman is different, treatment often takes an individualized approach. Treatment may involve different combinations of medication, surgery, alternative approaches and/or lifestyle changes depending on what the treating healthcare professional recommends. There are different medications that are being used. One of the most effective ways to treat endometriosis is through a surgical procedure called operative laparoscopy. This surgery is most effective in removing all the endometrial tissue when performed by a skilled surgeon with expertise in endometriosis surgery.

You could do a symptoms search on WWW.WebMD. I have a friend that has the same severe cramping and she has endometriosis. I am not saying that this is your problem but it could be a possibility. I wish that I could tell you how to get medical care without insurance but I don't know. If I can find out anything else I will get back to you. Good Luck!

I had terrible cramps ever since my third period at 12.
It runs in the family.
My doctor told me the only way i could get rid of it was getting pregnant.
But at that age the baby stuff just didn't attract me.
At 26 i got my hands on the book "The Cure of all Diseases " by Hulda R. Clarck PhD and ND.
I followed her herbal cure and the rest of her advise for P.M.S. and have been free of pain ever since.
It did cost a bit but I've been pain free for 11 years now.
There are also breathing exercises that work.
And a full blown orgasm the night before your periods start also helps loosen your muscles there.

Sorry to tell you this but you're going to have to get medication... a friend of mine is the exact same way, when she gets her period and gets the cramps all she pretty much can do is curl up in a ball and cry. But her doctor gives her certin pills that make her feel 100% better. Have you maybe thought about taking out a small loan to cover the meds at first and the doctor's appointment. I think its something you should consider if this is effecting your everyday life.

Well you think about the person all the time. Every time you see him you feel tickles in your stomach. You get very nervous around him. You want to do anything to keep him happy and you feel like your in the clouds. Of course don't be fooled by a crush they have almost the same symptoms but you'll know when it's love. It's a deep, strong feeling that you can't get rid of.

Ok, first off, chill because stressing out will NOT help. For your cramps, try 1 ) excercise
2 ) SLEEP
3 ) a warm bath or a hot water bottle on your tummy
4 ) EAT HEALTHY (cut down on salty foods)

As for what causes it, I'd see a doctor because (unfortunately) im still in med school!!!!!!!!!

You might try Tahitian NONI Juice... www.tni.com

It is 100% natural...... is listed in the Physician's desk reference with no known negative side effects.

The idea is the juice helps your body help itself...

Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Most people don't. It is more difficult for your body to function when it is low on water.

Blessings to you.
