Some Anti-Spyware applications will block some, and you can just turn it off completely. Better yet though, you can try and control what is downloaded by using CookieWall

Look at your browser setup. It should be underneat the "tools" pulldown. You will find an option for cookies. Sometimes it is underneath the "privacy section".

Also, you can do a search on "cookies" and delete them. However, even if the cookies are stored under the "temporary" directory, you might need to go into the "safe mode" to do it. If not and you delete them, they will be there the next time you access your system.

if you're browsing the web that's what happens. the best thing to do is get a stand alone anti spyware product. spysweeper or spyware doctor are the 2 best. i like spysweeper better. but spyware doctor reallys chases the cookies away. you won't ever need to worry about bad cookies.
