My cousin only had one friend, to which he is clingy to. Recently, my cousin's parents heard that my cousin's friend was gay, and thus forbid my cousin from seeing his friend.

They been friends two and a half years, since they were 13, and now without his friend, my cousin is like a little lost puppy, in my opinion.

His parents {being extremly homophobic} are unlikely to to change their minds.

So I really need to know how I can make him not so clingy. That way it would be easier to forget his friend.

why should he forget his friend? And surely at 16 he is old enough to pick his own friends.

The parents seem very ignorant, they obviousy believe homosexualty is contagious, a bit like the chickenpox. What sad ignorant people.

Your cousin needs to support his friend, who will have been gay by birth. People dont turn gay, it will always have been there

What if your cousin turns out to be gay too? They should love their son regardless and welcome his friends

You should try and talk to his parents and support your cousin, not make him out to be some sort of victim

You are cool looking out for your cousin...my advise is the following: Have a talk with the parentsof your cousin's best friend. Explain that they have been friends for a long time...there is a history there. It is not fair to ex-communicate his friend due to his "gay"dom. Clingy is not the right word, how about "friendly-attachment?"
