If porn is so degrading for women, why are there so many doing it?

Most of them look like they're enjoying it because they're acting, which is what they're paid to do.

As for the notion it's degrading, porn is a very female run industry. A lot more women produce porn than men, and women get paid much more to star in the films than even the most popular of the male stars do.

Honestly, I think people who don't like the notion of that sort of entertainment say it's degrading to women, because that's the "hot button" they can easily push.

Our society is very sensitive about women being mistreated in this day and age, so if you say women are being mistreated in the film, or it encourages men to mistreat women, which is a very popular tactic in this day and age-- to simply suggest men are doing nothing but hurting women every time they're together and that women are automatically traumatized by doing anything that men seem to really like to do, too, such as have sex or get off watching someone else have it-- you can turn people against something you don't like and get them to help you get rid of it without having a valid justification for it.

First of all, there aren't "many" doing it. Second, most women in porn come from sad pasts; incested, raped, parents who where a mess, etc. Third, they have to look like they're "enjoying it", obviously, because they are getting paid to look that way. Usually, they are on drugs to get them through it. You should read the book by the porn star who was known for her role in Deep Throat. I understand she really told it like it was in the porn business, it wasn't pretty. But then, why would anyone with common sense think it would be?

A lot of the women in that field were sexually abused as children. They have no self esteem and try to please men just as a child, feeling helpless, tries to get the abuser to like her because she is defenseless. They are good actresses. Some of them are gay and not even interested in sex with the men, it's a living.
Vness is wrong when she says that she used to think they were abused but they weren't. In my profession I came across some of those women in a therapeutic relationship and the ones I saw had been sexually abused as children.

because it isnt degrading women .. its just the women that are to ashamed to do it on camera like to have something to talk about so they choose that... and i dont think the women that are doing are actually enjoying doing more than they enjoy they money they get for "doing it"

They all say it's for the money, however most of them have a little perv in them. I've seen some clothed interviews and most say it was the next step from stripping, or one thing lead to another. I used to think most of them were abused early on in their lives, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

its not degrading to women--its just the women out there that dont like or believe in porn--they put it down saying its degrading to women--porn is no more degrading to women that it is to men...if the person male or female is doing porn--wanting to show off their bodies or show off them having major sex acts then its their bodies-
