There's probably a pregame performance where the home team's school song is played and if the other team has a school song (some don't) it will be played, then usually the alma mater, and sometimes the Star Spangled Banner. I was in marching band all four years in high school and my school had 2 school songs, but one was the Caisson Song, which is the Army's song. Those would be played first, then the alma mater, Star Spangled Banner, and the football team would run out to Gonna Fly Now from Rocky 1 because the school goes by Rocky. During time-outs, the band would play songs, and when the team scored, the band would play the school song. The band may do cheers, also. Half time, if there are two bands, there would be a time limit as to how long the bands would perform and would see who was the better band, but depending on time, and how much of the show was done and if the director wanted the band to stay or not, there's different things that go on with a performance and every band is different so it varies as to what a band does at a game.

If you are looking for a specific song...it varies by school. It's called the "fight song" because sometimes the two opposing schools bands will battle/fight during half time, or lulls in the game and see who can play it louder/better and get the crowd most enthused.
