The show was about a liberal administration. The audience accepted that, both republican and democrat fans understood it the president was a liberal, we had no problem with it.
So WHY did the producers think they needed to lie and say they were going to end the show with a republican president, then use the death of actor John Spencer to say they needed a democrat to win because .... "they didn't think the audience could take a shock like that, so Santos was given the win."
PLEASE! The last two seasons was devoted to Santos' campaign. Santos was given 5 TIMES the amount of time on screen as VINICK's campaign. You seriously think we are not going to notice than and then believe that you were goign to give Vinick teh win then changed your mind at the last second?

This show has an agenda and that is why I quit watching it. I went from taking it seriously to thinking it was a joke just like what happened to you, just a little later is all.

I don't think they lied. I always knew the Santos was going to win. I never heard the show say that Vinick was going to win. They tried to not give any ending away. If the show is about democrats, a republican isn't going to win the next term. I agree that it's dumb that they made Vinick the vp- that doesn't happen in reality.
As for John Spenser, that's not why they changed anything. His death was a surprise that they had to write in since he was still a main character.

Well I don't watch any show religiously...
But it is somewhat ironic that a show about politics upset people by lying to them.
