I need to reinstall windows on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite), i had to add another partition because my hard drive only consisted of one partition and if I reinstalled windows all my data would be formated. So i moved all the data to the new partition, i was just about to format and it gave me a warning telling me ALL DATA WILL BE FORMATED FROM YOUR HARD DRIVE i was wondering does that mean it will format all data on partition C: or the entire hard drive? thanks

if you have made partitions correctly and formatting only c drive then data from c drive only will be destroyed.it won't affect other drive data.if you are formatting whole hard disk then only total hard disk will get formatted.

u are absolutely right the data on your C drive will only be removed. data on the other partition will remain intact so dont worry go ahead and press 'Y' and re-install the windows

cheers
