Yes, bunnies love dandalions. It's only of their favorite treats.
Your grass should be fine as long as it is not treated with pesticides. I would make sure to feed them more than just grass, though.

Dandelions aren't poisonous to rabbits. Some rabbit breeders even use dandelions as an herbal type medicine for them. Just make sure your rabbit doesn't eat too much grass. If it eats too much grass, it can cause your bunny to get diahrrea. And also make sure your grass hasn't been treated with weed or bug killer that could be harmful to your rabbit.
I've been raising rabbits for 24 years.

LOL, no worries Wildfire! As long as you mention my website too ;-) ...
Foodrocks 5, yes, dandelions are safe for bunnies, as is grass ... but yes, you do have to careful they don't eat too much of it and get diarrhoea. It's a good idea to give your bunnies some food before you let them outside, because then their stomachs will already be full of good food, and they'll graze the dandelions and grass, but won't eat too much of it :-)
There are also some very very poisonous plants in our gardens - for example, ALL flowers that grow from bulbs are very poisonous for rabbits. So be very careful of not allowing them to access flowerbeds and so on.
Before six months, bunnies' main diet should be hay, water, and lucerne pellets. Some say you can begin introducing vegetables at four months, some say not until six months of age. Most importantly, when you begin to introduce vegies, you must do it VERY slowly and gradually - begin with just one slice or one very small piece of your chosen vegie, and make sure it doesn't give her diarrhoea over the next 24 hours before giving any more. Please see my website, where I've written articles on this, at
http://au.geocities.com/leaswebsite/bunnyfood
Also, NEVER give lettuce and NEVER give cabbage to rabbits - lettuce and cabbage are both very bad for rabbits, can cause diarrhoea and bloat which can kill them -

And please check out my site at

Yes, dandalions are one of the main staple for Wild rabbits in fact. The grass shouldn't hurt them provided it is FREE from pestacides of any kind!!
Your bunnies will think they died and went to heaven when they get to play in the grass.
Also check out some great links for care/feeding of rabbits and a wonderful site I use to purchase my Hay and Feed from for our rabbits. Shipping can be a bit stiff but, for the QUALITY of the hay (fresh, green, sweet smelling hay not that dry stuff you feed to cow's, goat's, sheep, horses etc. ).
Hope this helps ya' some.

Yes you can. I would start out with very short periods at a time (10 to 15 minutes) So you avoid any complications like diarea. If that occurs then feed them blackberry or raspberry leaves as a remedy for that. Enjoy and happy bunnies to you.

as long as you don't use pesticides or any sort of chemical on your lawn you'll be okay. Rabbits eat grass and dandelions natuarally. I used to have a guinea pig that liked to eat grass while I was cleaning his cage.

It's good for them. I take my bunnies and guinea pigs outside and they eat grass and dandilions when they're out in the yard. As others said, as long as there aren't any pesticides or other sprays put on your lawn, they will be fine. They will love you for it!!!.

Best things that can happen to the bunnies: being able to eat dandelion and play. Make sure you only let them play and eat where you never spray weed killer. Germans even eat dandelion as salad. So, yes...it's safe for them to eat it.

bunnies loves dandelions but pellets are best for your rabbits grass only contains 98 % water and has no value for your pets it can make your rabbits sick from other wild animals and lawn chemicals so I would not feed them grass at all ..
