Greetings from the Yahoo Brain in New York City!
Hope you're watching the live Answers webcast at http://advision.webevents.yahoo.com/asktheplanet/brain.html !

Here's some tips I've found to be helpful:
* Do not spray anything except canned air directly on the keyboard.
* To get excess dust, potato chips, or paper clips out of the keyboard:
o Try turning the keyboard upside down & shake
o Try canned air: Tilt keyboard on end & spray air at an angle between keys (if you just spray the air directly into the keyboard, you are more likely to just force the dust into the cracks.
o Try a small vacuum cleaner with crevice tool
o Try popping the keys off if you need to get to something like a paper clip: Use a key or screwdriver under the edge of the key.
* To get rid of the grime from the keys:
o Use a degreaser (like Formula 409) (spray on a paper towel) to clean the keys. Use a damp paper towel afterward if you need to remove any residue left from the degreaser. WARNING: Some paper towels shred, if you don't want to clean out the paper crumbs after cleaning the keyboard use non-shredding paper towels or a clean cloth.

Now hey, use an air can blaster, but please, don't become an inhaler. Over 150 people (mostly kids) die every year from this. See link for me info: http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/usworld/news-article.aspx?storyid=47153

Hope this helps!

U should be able to remove it from the base and then turn it upside down, shake all the crap out of it and put it back in.. Or you can just buy some compressed air at Wally world.

if it is just dust and crumbs get a can of air at radio shack or compusa or other computer store and blast it out. If you dropped a liquid - you will probably have to replace it.
Good luck
