s = Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
c = Celine Dion

s + c = 196.4
s = c + 35.4

( c + 35.4 ) + c = 196.4
2c + 35.4 = 196.4
2c = 161.0
c = 80.5

s + ( 80.5 ) = 196.4
s = 115.9

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band: $115.9 million
Celine Dion: $80.5 million

x = Celine's take (in millions)
x + 35.4 = Springsteen's take (in millions)

x + (x + 35.4) = 196.4
2x + 35.4 = 196.4
2x = 161
x = 80.5

Celine took in $80.5 million
Springsteen took in $115.9 million
