Here are some great weight dropping tips!
Eating Tips
Good things come in small packages. Here's a trick for staying satisfied while still keeping portions under control: Cut high-calorie foods like cheese and chocolate into smaller pieces. It will seem like you're getting more than you actually are.
Don't give up dips. If you love creamy dips and sauces, don't cut them out of your diet completely. Just use low-fat sour cream or mayo instead of the full-fat stuff.
Get water-wise. Make a habit of reaching for a glass of water instead of a high-calorie snack. It will help your overall health as well as your waistline. Add some zest with a twist of lemon or lime.
Herb it up. Stock up your spice rack, and start growing a small herb garden in your kitchen window. Spices and herbs add fantastic flavor to foods without adding fat or calories.
Slim down your soup. Make a big batch of soup and refrigerate it before you eat it. As it cools, the fat will rise to the top. Skim it off the surface for reduced fat content.
Doggie-bag that dinner. At restaurants, ask the server to put half your entrée in a doggie bag before bringing it to your table. Putting the food away before you start your meal will help you practice portion control.
Listen to your cravings. If you're craving something sweet, eat something sweet — just opt for a healthier nosh, like fruit, instead of a high-calorie one. The same goes for crunchy cravings — for example, try air-popped popcorn with soy sauce instead of high-fat tortilla chips. It's just smart substitution!
Ease your way into produce. If you're new to eating lots of fruits and veggies, start slowly. Just add them to the foods you already enjoy. Pile veggies on top of your sandwiches, or add fruit to your cereal.
Look for high-fat hints. Want an easy way to identify high-calorie entrees? Keep an eye out for these words: au gratin, parmigiana, tempura, alfredo, creamy and carbonara, and enjoy them in moderation.
Don't multitask while you eat. If you're working, reading or watching TV while you eat, you won't be paying attention to what's going into your mouth — and you won't be enjoying every bite. Every time you sit down for a meal, sit down. Chew slowly and pay attention to flavors and textures. You'll enjoy your food more and eat less.
Taste something new. Broaden your food repertoire — you may find you like more healthy foods than you knew. Try a new fruit or vegetable. (Ever had jicama, plantain, bok choy, starfruit or papaya?)
Leave something on your plate at every meal. One bite of bagel, half your sandwich, the bun from your burger. See if you feel satisfied eating just a bit less.
Get to know your portion sizes. It's easy to underestimate how much you're eating. Don't just estimate things — make sure. Ask how much is in a serving, read the fine print on labels, measure your food. And learn portion equivalents: One serving of pasta, for instance, should be around the size of a tennis ball.
Make a healthy substitution. Learn to swap healthier foods for their less-healthful counterparts. Find a substitution that works for you: Use skim milk instead of whole milk; make up a batch of brownie mix with applesauce instead of oil; try a whole-grain bread instead of white.
Bring lunch to work. Packing lunch will help you control your portion sizes. It also provides a good alternative to restaurants and fast-food joints, where making healthy choices every day can be challenging (not to mention expensive).
Have some dessert. You don't have to deny yourself all the time. Have a treat that brings you pleasure, but this time enjoy it guilt-free — be sure you're practicing portion control, and compensate for your indulgence by exercising a little more or by skipping your afternoon snack.
Ask for what you need. Tell your mother-in-law you don't want seconds. Ask your sweetie to stop bringing you chocolates. Speak up for the salad bar when your coworkers are picking a restaurant for lunch. Whatever you need to do to succeed at weight loss, ask for it. Make yourself a priority and assert yourself.
Fitness Tips
Simon says ... get fit. Here's an easy way to fit in exercise with your kids: Buy a set of one-pound weights and play a round of Simon Says — you do it with the weights, they do it without. They'll love it!
Make the most of your walks. If your walking routine has become too easy, increase your effort by finding hills. Just be sure to tackle them at the beginning of your walk, when you have energy to spare.
Shop 'til you drop ... pounds. Add a workout to your shopping sessions by parking your car as far from the store as possible, to get more walking in. And try walking up the escalator — getting to your destination faster will be an added bonus.
Walk an extra 100 steps at work. Adding even a little extra exercise to your daily routine can boost your weight loss. Today, take the stairs instead of the elevator, or stroll down the hall to talk to a co-worker instead of sending an e-mail or calling.
Lifestyle Tips
Brush your teeth after every meal and snack. This will be a signal to your mouth — and your mind — that it's time to stop eating. Brushing will also give your mouth a nice fresh taste that you'll be disinclined to ruin with a random potato chip. At work, keep toothpaste and a covered toothbrush in your desk drawer.
Clean your closet! First, it's great exercise. Second, it's an important step in changing your attitude. Get rid of all the clothes that make you look or feel bad. Throw out anything that's too big — don't give yourself the option of ever fitting into those clothes again. Move the smaller clothes up to the front to help motivate you. Soon, you'll be fitting into those too-tight jeans you couldn't bear to part with.
Take your measurements. You might not like your stats now, but you'll be glad you wrote them down when you see how many inches you lose. It's also another way to measure your success, instead of just looking at the scale. Sometimes even when the numbers on the scale aren't going down, the measurements on your body are.

Try to stay active, go for a walk or swim - swimming is great exercise and it will help you work on your tan!
A few good food and drink habits are good to start now during the summer as well. Drink lots and lots and lots of water. This will fight off fatigue so you can stay active and it will help your metabolism (I've seen girlfriends literally drop weight by just increasing their water intake everyday). Also, when eating a meal, don't go for second helpings. Eat a normal sized helping and then stop yourself. Everyone has problems with this, it's the American way to eat as much as we can in one sitting. If eating a smaller meal leaves you hungry, between meals make snacks to get you through - but choose healthy snacks - fruits, nuts, veggies. Try to not eat too late in the evening when you're resting and preparing for bed because then you have no activity to balance out the food you're eating.
You can do it, sounds like you have some great friends that will support you, you're obviously a beautiful person on the inside and out.

Okay first of all if you are unhappy about your weight but continue to eat fast foods and a lot of snacks that is bad. First thing you should do is try to diet properly. This means limiting your caloric intake to no less than 2000 calories a day. It is important that you do not go below this as you might have health problems. Secondly you need to excersize. Try a combination of weight lifting and cardio like running/walking. Excersize 6 days a week alternating muscle groups. The best way to get a excersize program that is best for you is to go to a gym and talk with a professional. DON'T RELY ON DIETING ALONE. The long term effects of dieting are not good. I was considered overwieght I excersized 2 hours a day 6 days a week and watched what I ate and lost 17 lbs the first month.
I also had someone to help push me to do better. Results won't come overnight and it is a long process. It all depends on what you want to accomplish. The second month I excersized less and continued to watch what I ate, but at the same time made choices to eat what I wanted, I lost another 5 lbs......your doctor might be able to help out but you need to excersize to get in shape. Do sports but don't think that there is a quick fix. You shouldn't be losing over 3-4 lbs a week anything over that and you might be hurting yourself. If you start something and work at it you could drop around 30 lbs of fat over 3 months and as you lose weight your energy will increase.

I Just had my second child and weight is a big problem for me too. I have decided to go on a Lean quizine diet which you can get at a grocery store. It cost about $25 to $30 a week for lunch and dinner and I eat a bowl of cereal in the morning that doesn't have a lot of sugar. I have been on this diet for about 5 weeks and I have lost 10 pounds. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but you don't want to lose a lot of weight all at once because it's harder to keep off. I hope this helps you. Good luck.

honey you are only 12 years old, your body is still changing.try small things, i have learned that you can do anything for 15 minutes,so try going for a 15 minute walk every other day and increase it every week or two by another 5 minutes.drink lots of water and lay off the soda and snacks, instead of grabbing a handful of chips try a piece of fruit, and no a fruit roll up doesn't count, limit your sugary food intake, don't cut it out completely and don't use it as a reward. example: don't try to convince yourself that you walked for 15 minutes so now you can eat a chocolate bar.and on another matter, don't let what other people say about you negatively get to you, just think when they get older they could be bald or fat to.if you don't feel good about who you are as a person no one else will,if you are happy with who you are as a person nothing can touch you.enjoy life as you're young, you have plenty of time to sweat the big stuff when you get older. take care and i hope things go better for you.oh and before i forget, those preps aren't all that cool, mean is not cool, they may have issues of their own.

It's summer girl, and it's the best time to change your regimen, physical and what you eat. There are all kinds of fresh fruit and veggies available this time of year. It's summer, so maybe you should try swimming or hiking. Stay away from Burger King and Pizza. As for your Mom putting you down for being over weight, that's another story. That is verbal child abuse. Sometimes all it takes is positive step in the right direction to get started. You have to like yourself in order to make things happen. Stop being so hard on yourself and take action, I know you sound strong willed and you can do it. Good luck girl and remember to never stop loving yourself. You have great energy and power. Use it.

You will look back on this one day and feel so stupid for worrying over something so trivial. People have serious problems, like dying of cancer or other health related issues.
Don't worry about being a stick figure like models and actresses, or your friends. As long as you look and feel healthy you should be happy.
If you're worried about shedding a few pounds, start exercising and eating healthier. Snack on fruits and veggies and have a lot of water to drink. Eat 3 square meals a day of healthy foods, like salads and baked chicken and veggies. Don't eat any more fried foods.
Nothing is wrong with you. You are only 12. Plenty of time to grow into the lady you are going to be. Stop worrying about what other people think. That is what is wrong with kids today. They can't think for themselves!!!!

EXERCISE It is very important. It can be fun to like swimming or some type of sport. Outside is best in fresh air and drink nothing but water. If you stay away from sodas and drinks with sugar in them will help. Don't eat after 7 or earlier if possible cause it won't digest before you go to bed. But stay active and drink lots of water. I lost 75 lbs 2 years ago so it can be done. And dont get upset cause it wont happen over night it takes time but be active and don't eat lots of sweets or late at night Good luck and I will be praying for you God bless

I hear your pain. I'm 52 years of age. I was considered fat. Long story short, I discovered walking. When I walked, I got skinny. When I had rides everywhere, I got fat. It's not easy, but it's the answer. Clip on a pedometer, and start at where you are, and add 25 steps each week. Eventually you will be up to 10,000 steps a day and looking good. Instead of being depressed, you will be feeling just the way you imagine you can.

Heh, I had the exact same problem...I'm losing weight from the classic "exercise and eat right" plan. DO NOT be fooled into those stupid diet pills... my cousin tried it any had some pretty bad results...they aren't regulated! But another thing that happens around 12 is your body starts changing a lot quicker than it had before, so it throws EVERYTHING out of whack.

Ask your parents to take you to the family doctor. He/She should be able to render a professional medical opinion on whether or no you are overweight. If you are indeed overweight, the doctor can help you plan a healthy weight loss program - like what to eat, how often to work out, etc.
