Put terms and definitions on seperate pieces of paper or seperate columns and practice matching them. Or cover up the definitions and try to define the terms from memory. This helped me memorize vocabulary for high school Spanish.

Read it carefully. Then have someone quiz you. Make a list of all of the terms and see if you can define them. If not look them up again. It is hard work and there are no shortcuts. Sorry. Maybe you should stick to liberal arts as much as possible.

Read the book BEFORE the class. Take notes. Retype your notes. Make notecards to memorize important points (chapter reviews, labs, vocab, etc.). Read your notes before going to your next class.
