I am 12 years old and getting ready to go out for football. I am 5`2`` and 125 ibs. I am pretty good at catching, but im slow. Ive been thinking about TE, what about you?

Play Fullback or tight end. Next join the track team and work as hard as you can. Next thing you know you'll get a little quicker and can be even better.

It's really going to depend on the average size breakdown on the team.
I was about your size at 12...I played Center and Noseguard.
Went on to college to play 5 years as a linebacker
at 6' 4" 245 pounds and able to benchpress 400 pounds.
My time at the age of 12 in the 40 yard dash was 8.2 seconds
:)
not very fast at all.
In college I improved a little with an average split of 4.4
You can do it.
If you are slower than your team mates; it's not likely that you will be a successful tight end - YET.
Give it time - your body has a lot of growing left to do.
You want to start a position where you'll be successful...that makes playing football much more fun!

If your slow then the safety position is not for you. A tight end would be a good spot to play but you might consider playing full back. On both positions your main job will be to block most of the time but there will be a few times you get your number called.

Tight End is a great position where you can score and knock the crap out of strong safteys.
