For some people proactive doesn't work and it's just like those other face washes. If it doesn't work or it makes ur acne worst, then it could be that ur skin does not react well to the active ingredient in it - Benzoyl Peroxide.

There are other acne face washes on the market which may be able to help your acne. The key is to read what the active ingredient is in them. Another common ingredient in Salycilic Acid. For some people this works better than Benzoyl Peroxide. Both of them kill the bacteria that cause acne but in different ways, which is why one ingredient may work for one person, and may not work for another.

If you've tried all the products on the market, and none seem to work then my only advice is to ask ur doctor or consult a dermatologist. That may be the only way to help your problem. Good luck.

Most of those things don't help acne, trust me... I have it.
Ok well this will sound weird coming from me, since the last question I posted was a "help for acne", but my case is most likely different then yours. All I do is wash my face with dove soap, once in the morning, once at night, and if I just so happen to be in the bathroom later, I wash it again. But usually only day and night.
I went to the dermatologist and I've received 2 acne medicines. One of them dries out pours when the other is like an "antibiotic". It makes it to where they don't get infected, as strange as it sounds.
Normally dove soap works soo much better than any other product. For mean anyways.
But you see, I have really oily skin. And I've got acne everywhere. "Whiteheads, and blackheads." It's not really noticeable, I mean they're not HUGE, but it is most defiantly noticeable.. really.
Well, I'm not going to sit here and tell you about my problem, because it's different then yours. I just wanted to let you know it does work... and that I know was I'm talking about. =)

If not... go to a dermatologist.

With the info I have, don't know how much I can help. If your acne is really bad, see a dermatologist. Birth control pills may help clear it up also. And don't overdo the products. Wash with a mild cleanser, use a toner with salicylic acid and use benzoyl peroxide on blemishes. Proactiv has a LOT of products, and the more you use them the more oil your skin will produce, and it may get irritated.

A friend of mine just got on some prescription med from her doc. It's serious medication. You have to sign forms promising you won't get pregnant while using these meds. You have to be tested for pregnancy every month. If you're a guy, you have to sign forms promising you won't get a girl pregnant because there is a 100% guarantee the baby will have defects. I don't know what it's called, but if you mention this information, I'm sure he/she will know what it is.
Works on the toughest acne.
