I am looking for some advise to give to my worrying sister who is pregnant.

She is about 12 weeks along right now and is ALWAYS saying she feels sick....no matter what she eats. Her doctor says everything is "fine" with her pregnancy so far but she is worried.

Coulod there be something wrong that is making her feel so sick??

This is so normal. Chances are nothing is wrong with her at all. For most of my pregnancies no matter what I ate I just would be sick. And even I could have a good day where I thought I hadn't been sick all day and as soon as I ate I would get sick.
Tell her to start out with bland foods. Nothing too harsh on her stomach and see how she is feeling.
If she is really concerned she could go to another doctor and get a second opinion but it is normal.

Some pregnancies are accompanied with more morning sickness than others. I have been pregnant 4 times. My second pregnancy I was sick all nine months. The last one I had no nausea or vomiting, but a stomach pain if I ate anything but soup and toast. # 1 and #3 were fairly normal with being sick mostly in the morning and it stopped around my 2nd trimester. If the doctor says she is fine, your sister is probably OK. It is normal to be worried when you are pregnant, especially with your first. She'll maybe need to try some little tricks to find what works for her. Small meals throughout the day so something is always in the stomach works for some. Drinking a glass of water before eating sometimes helps as well. She may want to try avoiding anything spicy, heavy, or greasy for awhile, too. Feeling sick is pretty common for pregnant women. I am not aware of any type of medical problem that would cause it, but she should feel comfortable enough to call her doctor if she continues to be concerned.

Morning sickness is perfectly normal in pregnancy, although annoying! It should ease anywhere between 12 to 16 weeks. I have friends who were at opposit ends of the scale, one was so sick she couldn't eat a thing, and another friend who didn't get sick at all. Both had perfectly healthy babies. Tell her not to worry, it does get better. I would actually say her morning sickness is a good indication that everything IS normal, rather than abnormal!! Good luck with the baby!

Eating small amounts of food often can help, especially if you wake at night. The nausea feeling is actually worse when your blood sugar levels drop. So keep up the intake of food to maybe help. If she can't stomach much, try just dry biscuits or bread and butter even.

There is nothing wrong with her, it is completely normal for her to have morning sicknesses at this stage of the pregnancy but htey will go away as her pregnancy developes more. She should try to eat salted crackers before getting out of bed they will help a little also tell her to tell her dr and they can provide her with a list of foods that can help her feell better in the mornings. If that doesn`t work her Dr can prescribe her some pills to stop this mornong sickness they don`t harm the baby and they make her feel better. Good luck with the new baby !

Most likely everything is normal. She's just having the all famous "morning sickness."
People tend to associate morning sickness with morning time, but the truth is that it can occur at anytime. In fact, when I was pregnant with my son, I was sick every evening around midnight.

It is caused by the increase in hormones of the body (estrogen & progesterone) It tends to go away during the second trimester.

Tell your sister to eat some crackers or dry toast. This helps a little, but honesty...only a little. She's just going to have to tough it out for a while.

God bless,
Shannon

I am 11 weeks, and I am experiencing the same thing. I feel nauseous throughout the whole day. Especially when I eat. I don't just have morning sickness, it lasts the entire day.
The doctors say that me and the baby are perfect.

Tell your sister she doesn't have anything to worry about. I have found that eating tiny meals during the day has helped a lot. Avoiding becoming full has helped.

Morning sickness occurs because the body is trying to get rid of something that it senses could be harmful to the growing fetus. If she is eating things with lots of preservatives, coloration or other additives, she could be suffering for it. Tell her all is fine, try to find things in the first trimester that agree with her and eat little meals of those things. She can widen her variety after the 1st trimester. Usually that's when morning sickness ends, not always, but usually. It's because this is the so very important growing phase for the baby. Good luck and Blessed Be!

No, nothings wrong. That's just a part of most peoples pregnancies. I used to vomit all day sometimes.
The most important thing is to keep up the fluids and make sure you don't get de-hydrated. Morning sickness does pass with most people, it takes some people longer to get rid of it than others, but it should start to ease up soon for her.
I found snacking frequently on dry crackers helped ease the nausea a little, but different things work for different people.

Morning sickness is different with every pregnancy. When I was pregnant with my two girls I felt nauseated the whole pregnancy. When I was pregnant with my two boy's I was so sick I was in and out of the hospital. When I was pregnant with my last son I had to have a Zofran infusion pump. If the doctor is not worried and she is not losing weight then I would not worry! Good luck!

morning sickness is a natural and normal part of pregnancy. what i suggest for her to eat is saltines or town house crackers. they help settle the stomach and aren't harsh enough to cause any heartburn or other problems. wish her good luck on the pregnancy and tell her to stop worrying and just enjoy it. it may seem like forever for the baby to get here, but she will miss the days that she was carrying if she doesn't enjoy each day as it comes now
