what kinds? gateway, HP, mac, etc?
Most have at least 512MB of memory, 3.0GHz processor, input is ethernet, USB, phone line, PS/2, Speakers, etc.
Outputs are HDMI, S-Video.

PHEW ! That is a huge subject. You'd be well advised to check sites like Tom's Hardware, http//:www.webopedia.com , and check each device that you're interested in. Also, the Intel site, AMD site , and so on.

Input would be such things as the mouse, keyboard, etc.
Output would be what you see on the monitor, the printer, etc.
Process would be the CPU.
Storage would be the hard drive or floppy drive.
