This is different for everyone. On average they say three days to a week. Some people its just a matter of hours other people its a couple of weeks.

Medical experts say within days up to 6 weeks. I lost mine at week 32 for my last baby who is 11 months old now and had contractions at that time too. In fact I had steady contractions all the way from 32 weeks until I had my scheduled repeat C-section at 39 weeks. I never did go into labor. It really just depends. In fact I was even completely thinned out (effaced) at 36 weeks and was dilated to 2 3/4 at 32 weeks. (I didn't notice when I lost my plug for the first baby and had horrible complications so I didn't have any "normal" experiences from that pregnancy to compare to).

There's no exact science here because all women are different and every pregnancy for each woman is different too. Just know it will be soon, and be patient. You can drive yourself nuts over this if you dwell on it too much, believe me! You'll know when it happens! Try to keep yourself busy and your mind off of it, and it will appear to happen sooner for you. If you dwell on too much it will feel like it is taking forever!

My niece went into labor a couple hours after she lost her's. I had to be induce two weeks after I lost mine.

congratulations, if you're having a baby. it really could be any length of time. probably not more than a couple days, though
