It is true for many girls. Usually by the time you start, your body is the way it will look (more or less) for the rest of your life. You'll probably fill out and your features will mature, but most likely will not get any taller. I haven't grown since the 7th grade. Fun for me!

No it's not true. All women would be dwarfs if that was the case! I must have taken at least 20cm since I had my first period! In fact you grow up until your early twenties, and just for the fun, your nose and ears never stop growing (and that one is true!).

no. menstrual flow has nothing to do with your production of growth hormones. in puberty, changes happen, and two of those changes are: you'll have a monthly visit because your reproductive system is creating a soft tissue around the duct for support just in case the ovulation stage would come and you'll start to grow taller because of the activity of your pituitary gland.

When you start your periods it is possible (for some people) to have a slower growth spurt. You dont stop growing entirely but it does slow down as the body's growth hormoes are concentrated in other areas of the body ie breasts, pelvis, etc.

no, you usually start your period when you hit 7 and a half stone which is I think 105lb, most of us still have a lot of growing to do at that weight.
