My cousin's {best and only} friend is gay, so my cousin's parents {extremly homophobic} have forbidden my cousin from seeing his friend.

They've been friends for two and a half years, since they were both 13. My cousin is very sad over the matter, and can best be descibed as a lost little puppy, without his friend. He says he can't live without his friend. Which really worries me.

Is it possible to change his parents decision? If so, HOW?!

And why are people like that?!

It's really sad that people are like that..and unfortunate..please tell your cousin not to do anything foolish..these things have a way of working themselves out in time.

why are people like that? because parents doesn't want to have homosexual kids.... it's a harsh reality... why they are doing it? because they convinced that if your cousin will continue to see his friend, he will become homosexual too which is not really impossible... you cannot blame you uncle and aunt... they are born and raised like that... and there is a little way to change that but the case IS NOT HOPELESS...
i have a cousin who was in that situation too... the only difference was that he is a gay too... what he did was to show his parents that he can be succesful even if he is gay... he started to win contests and eventually the parents just accepted the way he is... they even let him bring home gay friends sometimes as long as they will act decent in the house and he also made friend with girls and real guys... your cousin should not make himself believe that his world only revolve with one person... people come and people go... what matters is that he will learn how to deal with it... its harsh but who says life is fair??? he will make it through! +++

When you find out you tell me....Its the way people are....I should know my friends parents are REALLY homophobic. Well one thing tell his parents that there child is the risk of suicide either that or really bad depresion! Don't they care about how there child feels? They should! Tell them that there son isnt gay but the person they had seperated from knew him better than anybody else!!

from your friendly answering girl, cheesecakelover LOL!! XD!! =D

Being homophobics, they probably think that your cousin will turn gay just from hanging out with his friend. That's too bad. Maybe his friend's parents could talk to his parents.

His Parents need to let him chose his friends gay or not they can't be with him 24-7 so he'll be able to hang with them. They sound like they're very up tight they need to let him make his own decisions they can't do it 4 ever.Tell him to say he's going some where else then sneak to go see him lol

well first of all if his parents knew that they have been friends for 2 and 1/2 yrs then they shouldnt have a problem with them being friends now. his parents should pick his friends. i have a 6 yr old little boy and if i found out that one of his friends were gay it wouldnt bother me, but of course i have a really good friend that is gay,.just b/c somebody if gay doesnt mean that he/she is gonna change somebody that is straight!

There may be something or reason on the part of parents.Obey them.Parent knows what is best for their son who is aged only 13 and immature.

thats so sad, i know how he feels, my parents wouldent let me go out wid this guy because they hated him, an no matter what i did they never changed their mind... so i dont think there are many things that will change parents minds, but all u can do is try an reason wid them, make them c how sad he is wid out his friend and reason wid them, an make some sorta deal

i think if theyve been friends that long, his friend coming out shouldnt change anything. have your cousin tell your parents that he isn't gay, so it doesnt matter if his friend is or not, because it isn't going to change him. something like this is like forbidding someone to hang out with a friend because they're a different ethnic group. its ridiculious.
