Linda Eastman was in London taking pictures of different bands. She met Paul then on a while on a photoshoot. She was married, with a daughter, and he was seriously involved with another girl, but they got together. Someone else states John Lennon set them up, but I heard he reportedly did not like her, I don't think he had anything to do with them getting together.
To me the best part of their love story was his constant devotion to his wife, even teaching her to play keyboards and sing so she could be with him when he travelled. They were supposedly never apart for more than a week their entire marriage. That is love....

As Macca himself tells it, he met Linda at the Bag O' Nails club in London. Chatted her up, had a drink and a toke together and that was it...until she finagled a press pass to the "Sgt Pepper" press launch party (Linda took the Beatles' "Thumbs up" photo taken at the party.) A year later, Lennon and McCartney were in New York to promote the start of Apple Records; Macca bumped into Linda at a club; they exchanged numbers and he invited her out to L.A., where they were headed next. She came out west; they got together at that point and her and her daughter (from a previous marriage) moved in with Macca in London a couple months later. And the rest is history...and Heather Mills doesn't even come close to Linda McCartney!!!!

Linda was a good friend of John Lennons, and I do beleive she and John dated previously. John brought Linda backstage to meet Paul. Later on Paul got Linda involved in music..hence wings then marriage:)
