When I tan, I can pass for nonwhite, when normal, I look white, when gothed-out-pale, I am a ghost, boo.

I thought it was the other way around, I've seen white women with so much makeup on they were scarey, some looked like clowns

Most caucasians,alot of asians & some hispanics have pale/light complexions...make-up just adds on shades of color to blend in.Although some foundation can make one look even more pale/lighter...some tan very easily & some can't tan at all.
