Yes, we can have them. If people didn't get them legally, they'd get them from the black market. Just how people here get drugs. So, I say it's better to have a gun to protect yourselves and your family in your homes. As long as it is secured properly to make sure no one can get to it but you so there are no accidents. If guns were outlawed, I know i'd feel a lot less safe. My family wouldn't have a gun and some guy who has obtained one illegally could break in and do whatever he wanted to us because we have no good way to protect ourselves if we can't get to a phone to call the police. Sure i'm sometimes afraid of people who might have guns, but those are the ones that carry them around outside of their home. Mostly the types that look like they're in gangs. That doesn't really matter, because i'd still be afraid if guns were illegal because, as I stated in the beginning, those people would likely still get them from the black market.
NOT TO MENTION: the USSR decided once upon a time that it'd be impossible for them to invade the U.S., not just because of the military, but because of the majority of our citizens own guns that we wouldn't be afraid to use if they invaded.

Yes, and there are other countries that allow that too, look into Sweden and Israel. Like someone said crime is lower when everyone has a gun. Think about it, are you gonna risk robbing a store when you know a high percentage of the customers themselves may have a gun? NO, cause you know you'll be laying down faster than you can do anything with yours. The problem is too many people don't know how to use the gun, or don't take care of it, or even panic in a situation. Basic training, and evaluation therefore should be done before one can be issued a gun, or at least allowed to carry one concealed. Is it scary? Yes But, when the streets are full of illegal guns in the hands of criminals, would you rather walk around defenseless?

Born and raised here and IF I had a gun I would use it only for protection. That's what they are intended for(and hunting) but some buy them for other reason or own them for other reasons such as causing harm to others.
No, I'm not scared that other people have them. We don't live in a reckless society. I don't know what the hell your countries media is reporting but if its like most, then are you greatly misinformed about what goes on here. Yeah, there are murders and shootings here, but it happens in every country...Actually I think we're more responsible with guns here. We aren't terrorists who go around shooting innocent people and oppress others through violent means. If you want to hate on any country,why don't you direct your attention to the Middle East..These idiots can't stop from strapping on a bomb to themselves or a car then killing innocent people. Are you a terrorist?

Yes americans have the right to own firearms guaranteed under the constitution. I have a few, and like having them around. I don't think I'll ever have to use them, cuz most people take a look at me and think twice. I've found the right look in the eye to be the best deterant for would be hoods. They seem to sense fear, and pounce on it. I show none, and never have had a problem.
I would never live in a country that banned firearms. Citizens must have a means of self-protection against government runnamuck. That was the intent of granting the right in the constitution.

yes i collect guns, i have 5 Russian main battle rifles, 9 weapons based from the AK action, a handgun from WWII.
i do not worry about other legal gun owners. armed criminals i worry about a little. the only thing i can do about them is to stay aware of my surroundings.

what else would you do with a gun?, buy it and give it away?besides that, it's been proven that if everyone has a gun there are less crimes than if only some people have them.

i have a nice little arsenal of guns. i am not scared of others. if they decide to use theirs against me, i can retaliate with my own arsenal.
