Maybe it's just me, but I usually look at their face in general, not specifically their eyes. If I do look into someone's eyes when they're talking it kinda feels wierd for some reason, and I find it hard to concentrate on what they're saying. Am I just a freak or what?

all the time to the point that I have been told that it was rude.
If I am not careful, I am a huge starrer.
Looking into other people's eyes never scared me and I don't feel shy when they look into mine either.
Lots of things are conveyed through the eyes. Sometimes a person says is joking but you look in their eyes and they are not
I know it is not the proper "etiquette" among some groups of people though..
I made quite a lot of friends via sheer eye contact " you got me..I got you".

The eyes are considered the windows of the soul.
You can tell many things from someones eyes. If you suspect a person is lying to you, look deep into their eyes. They will shy away if what they say isn't true. You can read their thoughts with some studying & a bit of practice. The eyes show stress levels as well. Just look at the sleepless bags under a confidants eyes.

An empath can feel another persons pain or hurts.
The eyes are powerful in many ways more than just for seeing objects in 3 dimensions.

You may feel uncomfortable looking into ones eyes because you may not want to feel or know what they truly think about you or a specific situation. Perhaps you were psychic in a past life or you had an eye trauma in a past life experience.

No, I think making eye contact is a learned exercise. Your center focus is the center space between a persons eyebrows right above the nose. You are not looking or staring at any facial feature. Placing your focus here enables you to presume eye contact while actually concentrating on the conversation. The other person has no clue because to him you ARE making eye contact and is pleased with your attention.
Try it, it will take a while but when you get the hang of it you will be able to do three things at the same time.
I can pretend to be making eye cantact, scan the face and body language while participating in the conversation.

Yes. I stare right into people's eyes. (The reason could be I'm a very straighforward and honest person, btw. And in a close conversation, I want to let the other person know they have my full attention). Of course, from time to time, I look down. Otherwise, it would be too rude.
TIP: Don't look away when someone stares at you. It lets them know you're shy and easily intimidated.

And no. You're not a freak. Most people won't fix their eyes on others.

I know what you mean. When I look in a person's eyes unexpected things happen. Sometimes I become more honest, and sometimes I lie. When people look me in the eyes it freaks me out.

Well, for some reason I find that I tend to look at the person's mouth not their eyes if that makes you fell better.

Good question. I have that problem too. It feels strange and intimidating when I actually look into the eyes.

the eyes are the windows to their soul. Are you sure you just did not find a strong connection to that person?
