I had to reformat my hard drive, I still have a yahoo account but can't access my instant messanger account

how do I retreive my instant messanger friend list.................

If you can not get Yahoo IM to work, try downloading Trillian. It will allow you to hook to your Yahoo account, as well as set up and use MSN, AOL, and other accounts at the same time. You will be able to retrieve yout Yahoo list through Trillian. (Free download)

You should be able to download Yahoo Messenger and it will retrieve your contact list once its installed. Just use your account's old username and password to sign in and you should be set.
