I don't believe in capital punishment. I think it's a much greater punishment to let a criminal rot in hellish prisons for endless years. It's in no way a deterent for capital crimes.

Although there are many on this forum that do not believe in the Bible, It does give a good case for capital punishment in Genesis and Exodus. It lists in the Mosaic Laws what constitutes a crime requiring the person being put to death. There are those that say the 10 Commandments says "Do not Kill" but if you look at some of the original versions it says "Do not murder." a vast difference. Because so many of the newer versions of the Bible use the word "Kill" they pass it on to mean not only people but also animals. There is no prohibition to killing animals done in a humane way. God killed animals to clothe Adam and Eve after the fall, but there was a more important reason. Sin requires a blood sacrifice; in the Old Testament it was done with animals in the New Testament it was done through Jesus Christ.

Today with the ever better ways of solving crimes it can be pretty sure that the person did the crime. Therefore, Yes, Capital punishment is right and should be done when the crime fits the requirement for it. Although I don't really believe in stoning as in the Bible days, I think that public hangings would make most people think twice before committing a death sentence crime.

Yes I'm for capital punishment. Remember most of these people have been in and out of jail all their life. They don't fear prison, it's their second home. 3 meals and cable TV, they think it's a good life. They only fear death. Go to a prison and talk to some of these people, they laugh at a life term. The punishment should fit the crime.

Do I think a murderer deserves to die? Yes. But do I think any human has the right to take life? No. We are no better than anyone else when it comes to taking life. Not to mention the fact that some one could be convicted wrongly. Look at the case of the West Memphis Three. The one guy is on death row with ZERO evidence. www.wm3.org.

-First it costs far more to go through the necessary appeals in a death sentence case than it does to imprison them for life.

-Second humans should not have the right to take life. Unless it is to prevent more deaths by doing so, such as in the case of a necessary war.

-Third the death penalty is obviously not a deterrant.

YES, but I think the means should be more painful!!! If someone tortured a person to death and they died in a very agonizing way I don't think the killer should get a lethal injection. I feel they should feel some freakin Pain just like their victims....I think that would detour some criminals if they knew they were gonna get as much pain as they gave out.

I am against it cuz so many innocent people were on dreath row, but at that time they did not have advance knowledge as they do now.. I am for it cuz if you rape and kill some one, you should get the same treatment.. Law Calss changed me a lot, lol

Yes .... and the sentence should be carried out much quicker. There is no excuse for waiting 10 - 15 years to rehabilitate these killers.

I am for it. Why do we have to support murderers or any other criminal? I think we need to find a better system. But I also don't agree with the jury system either. (in case you need that for a future survey)

Years ago I used to be. Nowadays I'm not so sure. I wouldn't get upset if capitol punishment were done away with. I don't think it really deters anything.
