The Barbie collectible site is a good option for identifying your doll. Most non-collectors get fooled by the 1966 mark on their barbies butt- but this doesn't mean the year it was manufactured but rather the year of the patent. The country of manufacture will help you zero in on the age of your doll. Oldest dolls were manufactured in Japan.

As in most things CONDITION is everything as far as value. Also, in general values have gone down in the past two or three years. A rare, number 1 ponytail white iris, hole in foot in good condition can get thousands.

If you have pictures of your doll you can go to the community section of EBay to the Barbie doll chat. You will get lots of information from knowledgeable collectors.
