Yes a Parent must be present when your going to the doctor but durning the exam you can ask your doctor for your parent to leave the room.When the exam is over they'll re enter the room.I know this cause I've been there lol

The wise parent will let the 16-year old see the doctor, alone. So that the teen can ask about things they may be too embarrassed to mention, with a parent present.
During an intimate exam, a nurse will be present. And should be insisted upon, if not.

No, the parent doesn't have to. I went to my first gynecologist appointment at 16 and no one went in with me.

some clinics do not require a parent to be with the child, call ahead of time and find out before making an appointment
