usually about 3 to 4 hrs but the gameboy will let you know by the charging light going off

I've got one and I always let it charge until the orange light goes off, and that's usually 3 hrs after you begin charging it. Also, just in case you didn't know, you can still play your SP when it's charging. Isn't that awesome? Just kidding! ^_^

ita all right, you can overcharge, doesnt matter with thise type of batteries. It takes 3 hours to charge and will last you 8 hours

Well, it usually takes 2 to 3 hours....... i should know i have one and so does my lil sis. Hope this helps. O_o >.< :D
