Line Haul= Over the road. Gone for weeks at a time.
Most city drivers get home every night and drive trucks w/o sleepers (day cabs).

line haul is city to city otr is from pick up to delivery and city driver is usually local or regional . line haul = lets say you hire a moving company to move you from bakersfield california to memphis tennessee a city driver would usually pick up at your house and take it to terminal and line haul driver would pick it up at terminal and drive to memphis to another terminal and drop it off and another city driver would pick it up at terminal and deliver it to your new address .over the road= joe driver picks up load of car parts at mels car part emporium at 13355 san jucinto point laredo tx and drives them to delivery at marks parts palace at 12345 south 23 rd ST LOUIS MO and delivers them... city driver would do all the other running from marks to local vendors and stores ..etc ... got it?
