i use ad aware and spyboy but when the virus scan is done it says that it could not scan ad aware and spybot because the are password protected but i did not set a password on them can you tell me why is says that and tell me what spyware programs you use with avast antivirus

I like two spyware programs (both free),
Adaware http://www.adaware.com
Spybot http://www.spybot.com

if you have a spyware problem, then you definetely need some professional help, fortunately companies like microsoft and symantec are aiding for free all computer users, since this spyware problem is actually doing so much harm to their business that most large companies like ibm and microsoft are teaming up to try to eradicate this problem.

You should have three anti spy ware programs.

Windows Defender is free from Microsoft. Go here to read about and get it - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

Spybot and AdAware I would uninstall them and reinstall. Make sure they are not actually running when you run Avast. Get them both free here - http://www.download.com
