I recommend the Banana Boat or Neutrogena lines of sunless tanning products. I have had good and natural-looking effects from products under both of these brand names. Have some baby wipes on hand to wipe your hands after using ANY sunless tanning product. This usually avoids the "tell all" orange palms. Make sure to wipe in between fingers as well!

I've had very good results with Banana Boat and Neutrogena spray foam. Just follow the product's directions (don't try and over-do it to speed up the tan or you will get that orangy shade) and scrub you hands thoroughly immediately after applying. I love these sunless tan products because I live in the desert where lying out to sunbathe is practically suicidal due to the fierce sun and I can avoid the sun's damage to my skin. I actually knew someone who died at a young age from melanoma (skin cancer) because she always liked having a tan.

Neutrogena Build-a-Tan Gradual Sunless Tanning lotion is good. Or you could try a daily moisturizer w/ self-tanners built in... it is more subtle and less likely to turn you orange. Dove Energy Glow is good (or so I've heard) and it comes in fair and medium skin tones. You pick the one closest to your natural skin tone, not the skin tone you hope to acheive. And you need to scrub your hands w/ soap and water after you use any type of self-tanning product.

No if you apply it with your hands, your supposed to wash them. What I do is, take a wash cloth (wet it with water before you apply product) and wipe off your palms and between your fingers so that your palms don't get color, but the top of your hands do.
