i just recently got hi speed service n things have been going great. now it moves so slow with everything, it was quicker when i had dial up. could it be a virus, my virus scanner says that there r none n that it took care of ne potential files. if ne of you have ne tips i am computer illeterate feel free to use stupid talk.

sometimes routers and modems "get stupid". Try unhooking the power and ethernet cables from the back of the modem and router if you have one. Wait 10-30 seconds then plug them back in. This is one way to RESET the modem and router. YOu might have to do this from time to time. Its nothing to worry about.

It more likely is spyware if your virus scan was clean.
You should have three anti spy ware programs.

Spybot and AdAware scan for and remove spyware. Run them both about once a week. Get them both free here - http://www.download.com

Have you scanned for spyware. It is a separate utility. It will slow your computer. Also, you might want to turn your modem off then on.

Download and run AdAware and Spybot. You may have spyware.
