I have a new M/board, cpu and DDR 1GB ram (upgraded my computer) but have a fine running 512MB SD ram that i want to still use. is there an adaptor plug to work SD ram in a DDR ram slot? Or should i just place the SD ram in the bin?

No, DDRam and SDRam are two different and uncompatible types of Ram. If your new motherboard takes DDR and you only have SDR, you will have to go out and purchase DDR. Sorry.

Place it in the bin. DDR Ram is faster and better than SD Ram.

There is now way tyhat you can use sd in a ddr slot. there completly differnt interfaces.. So to give a basic answer no, you nolonger have use for the SD chip..

I don't think so. Why go slower when you can faster. Just buy new ram it is not that expensive for a stick. But caution not to do anything dumb to mess up the new motherboard i say if you upgraded your PC the do the same for the clock/processing speed.

SDR RAM (Single Data Rate RAMs)
DDR RAM(Double Data Rate RAMs)

i believe now you know why they are made differently

Why in the world would you want to do that? If you do that you will slow your whole system down to the speed of the SDRam. Just sell the memory on eBay and buy a new memory module. Memory is so cheap now. That's what I would do.

you can not use SD ram at new m/boards. only DDR ram.
