One of my customers had this issue, even when only 10 feet from the router. Contacted the vendor of the router, and they had us change the beacon interval from 100 to 50, and two other settings I can't remember off hand. But call the router's tech support, they'll probably have the answer for you within minutes.
(of course, this is if distance or interference is not the issue)

Some routers have this problem if they are near some of the older wireless phones. The older panasonic handsets that operated at 2.4 ghz are especially bad. If it is working when it's like 2 feet from the router, and not at like 15 feet, interference from another source is your problem.

There could be a number of problems but my guess is that you are not close enough to the router and you do not have a Strong enough card so just check that you are with about 100ft. and you are not between to many walls are window that could block some connections.

I am having the same problem with my modem router and I called the company which told me to go back to them for checks. I suspect this could be a hardware issue, so maybe you should go back to the company too to resolve this problem.
