I think there is some truth, but you have to ask yourself why the stereotype exists. Native Americans for instance are often categorized as lazy and drunk, but if you look at history as well as the present, you see that Native Americans have been forced into reservations and made to believe that they are incapable. Alcohol can be a way of coping for some people. So ask yourself why does a certain percent of people feel the need to cope or rely on substances. Are they lazy or have they no self confidence. Why is this?

All stereotypes come from at least a little bit of truth.

isn't a stereotype based on observations of ones actions? then why is it not the truth?
