It's not that they hate taxes...
It's simply an unwillingness to use those taxes to benefit the underclass citizens of the US that bothers them.
You see, taxes are supposed to go to help the citizens get things done... at least that's how they used to tell it to us. But now, it seems there's a whole lotta people (Republicans and some Demies) that think that the tax money is supposed to go to make us the leaders of the world and rule over everybody else's business... They actually LOVE taxes when you use it like that!

We lost over a trillion dollars on the WTC bombing. I'd rather spend money tearing down buildings of the enemy nations instead of spending it upon burial and clean up in our own. I am a conservative and I am opposed to paying taxes to unaccountable social programs.
Otherwise I don't mind paying taxes to programs that work.

You need to study tax law to get an answer to this. Very complicated for a short answer.
