That was an old old fashion you had to follow long ago. I belive it was popular during the time of my grandmother, it's just after labor day your not supposed to wear white. That was about it, nothing really special, just something to allow women to put other women down if they weren't up on the times.

In florida I wear when ever I want, but when I lived in a state that had lots of snow, we were all sick of seeing white and did not wear in the winter.

White stands for purity. So when it is spring, there is a new beginning, and a reason for wearing white, where as in the winter things die, flowers are not in bloom, so darker colors for the winter.

Same reason you don't wear a brown belt with black shoes....arbitrary custom that looked as "whites" as your "summer whites"....and after labor day ensued cooler weather and warmer hues.

It is a rule of fashion that is no longer followed. If someone says that, they are really out of touch but are trying to sound cool.

I dont follow that fashion rule..White you can wear all year
