and a window xp cd come with it, i got a new dell computer this year but no windows xp came with it

Dell PCs don't always come with the Windows XP restore CD, sometimes you must contact customer service by phone or email and request it. I am the owner of a PC Repair shop and have encountered this several times over the years. When ordered, it only takes about a week to come in. If you did not receive any of the restore CDs - I would request that they all be sent incase you would need them. If you are restoring your PC, you will need the driver restore CD also, otherwise some of your hardware will not work properly.

They will send you the windows software only if you ask for it, along with all the other backup stuff. Call their support number and tell them that you want the system recovery CD's. They may send them for free, or charge you a small fee (I've done this twice. Got charged $20 the first time, $0 the second time).
You should always do this for a new computer, as you never know when you may lose all the info on your hard drive and need to re-install everything.

yea i got one if i was you i would be contacting dell it shouldent come with a windows xp cd it should come with a restore disk that is only made for a dell computer..if you are wanting to redo it you cant without that cd because the product key has to match the product key that is on on side of you're dell

You have to pay for the software seperately. You can get a cheaper version of XP by getting the students addition. That's what I got and it was like 200 dollars cheaper. I love my Dell though.

I have a dell, and XP was preloaded, I forget if I got the CD ... I'd have to look

Yeah i got knew bell computer with window xp in it
No problem the dealer can be stored any window
U can install any window u like

Dell puts it's RESTORE disk on a RESTORE (d:) partition.
You can request it on cd... or DVD
