There are literally thousands of Spanish singers, bands and artists, as well as hundreds of different styles.
It often enrages me that people abroad often end up listening to what I consider the worst spanish music (reggaeton, cumbia, ricky martin-style pop, etc.), while the best music in spanish is not as well known or popular abroad as it should be.

For that reason, I recommend you to download songs from "Soda Stereo" (an argentine rock band from the 1990's that's probably among the best in the world), Los Enanitos Verdes, Andres Calamaro or Mexican band Mana. Trust me, you won't be dissapointed, specially with Soda.

If you have yahoo messenger you can listen to spanish music there to get a feel for what you like. They have probably close to a dozen stations in spanish. A few artists I like (I'm a native english speaker, btw): Belinda, Kumbia Kings, Maná, Enrique Iglesias, Marc Antony...
