you may get lucky and get induced the same day as your appt but I am guessing most likely not. I was induced with my daughter, dr told me to come into the hospital the next day at 7 am. She is now 6 weeks old. Good luck and congratulations on your new coming baby, ENJOY!

Unless there's a REALLY good reason to do it, they don't usually induce in the afternoon. If it's a scheduled induction, they have you come in at, like, 5:30am. Why? Because they don't WANT to be delivering a baby in the middle of the night if they can help it, and it takes a while.
How long is a while? 52 hours in my case, plus 3 of pushing, and I *still* ended up with an emergency C-section.
So I doubt they'll induce you that afternoon. My money's on them having you come back early one morning later in the week.

When the doctor decides to induce labour, she will call the hospital and check scheduling for labour / surgical / recovery / semi-private rooms ....... Your inducement will then be scheduled according to availability and convenience. It is doubtful you will be sent from her office to the hospital. Good luck with your new baby !

a dr cannot induce you in their regualr office, she would either ask you to meet her at the hospital to do it, or make a set appt for you to go to the hospital to be induced.

my doctor said the same thing to me. she helped get things started at the reg visit, then it was a trip to the hospital where things really got going. More than likely she will get you going at your visit. Good Luck and Congrats
