The nation benefits enormously from our good and bad habits. Tobacco and alcohol generate more money than I can imagine in tax revenue. Take a look at the money spent on fast food, junk food and processed foods. I'd say the money spent there has definitely boosted our economy and created millions of jobs. Not only do we spend our money on the junk we then pay for the health care needed from eating it. Bad habits = big bucks. On the flip side, look at the price of nutritious un processed or organic foods. It costs a lot more to eat healthy foods. Fitness is another big buck market. A good pair of running shoes will cost almost 100.00 these days although many are now produced outside the country. Habits are things we love and things we're willing to spend money on. I'm writing this as I sip a glass of wine another habit that gets the money flowing.

I believe that a education erases all ignorance and is the great liberator. And, we need people of all kinds to make things work. Spending unwisely helps us learn how to spend wisely, so once again education erases ignorance. This is true in other situations like anger managment. We have to know what is bad to understand what is good. The bad go to doctors and lawyers and insurance helps so more money is pumped into the economy. Teachers teach right from wrong. We wisen up and the good turns things around again, but there must be balance and we must always care.

No habits are good to the nation's economy especially the spending habits of the idiots we put there. We're 9 trillion in debt now and growing. God help us.
