This only happens at night, if we have the air conditoner on, after a few hours, our smoke alarm will start beeping in five minute intervals. We have four of them in the apartment and only one of them beeps. What could be causing this?

The A/C might be drawing enough current from the line that the smoke alarm senses a low power situation and is beeping to notify you of that. 5 minute beeps are some kind of warning about the alarm itself. Check the alarm's paperwork if you have it. The alarm might have to be replaced. Switch with a different one from another room and see if the new one starts beeping. That means there is a problem with the line, probably caused by the A/C. If the one still beeps, then it probably needs a new battery if it has one, or it needs to be replaced.

Your problem could be solved by buying a 9volts battery and replace it . the 5 minute interval is just a reminder that the battery is low. that happend to me couple times and especially at 2 or 3 in the morning. Once we replaced the battery problem was solved...

it sounds like an electrical problem. You will need to inform the grounds keeper at your apartment.
