1. (7x10^3) x (4x10^5) =
= (7x4)(10^3x10^5)=
=28x10^(3+5)=
=28x10^8

2. If the equation is 1/3 of x^2=48
then:
(1/3)X^2=48
X^2=48x3
X^2=144
X=sqrt(144)
X=+/-12

if the equation is 1/(3X^2)=48
then
3x48X^2=1
144X^2=1
X^2=1/144
X=sqrt(1/144)=sqrt(1)/sqrt(144)
X=+/- 1/12

3.use the quadratic formula
x^2 + 6x + 7 = 0
X1/2=(-6+/-sqrt(36-28))/2
X1/2=(-6+/-sqrt(8))/2=(-6+/-2sqrt(2))/2
X1/2=-3+/-sqrt(2)

4.If 8f^3 is not a mistake, then:
(5t^4 - 6) - (8f^3 - 4) + (6t + t^3)=
=5t^4-6-8f^3+4+6t+t^3=
=5t^4+t^3-8f^3+6t-2

but, if you you ment to ask to simplify (5t^4 - 6) - (8t^3 - 4) + (6t + t^3), then:
(5t^4 - 6) - (8t^3 - 4) + (6t + t^3)=
5t^4-6-8t^3+4+6t+t^3=
5t^4+(t^3-8t^3)+6t+(-6+4)=
5t^4-7t^3+6t-2

5. Use the following formula:
(A-B)^2=A^2-2AB+B^2
(2x^2 - 4)^2=(2x^2)^2-2(2x^2)(4)+4^2=
=4x^4-16x^2+16

Send me a note, and I'll photostate the answers for you.

The first one is to multiply the 2 real # to get 28, then add the exponents on the 10 to get 10 to the 3+5 power or 10 to the 8th power. the ans: 28x10^8. It is 35 after the hour. I can be here until the new hour. swan_silver1929 this website dot com

if by these you mean

1.)
(7 * 10^3)(4 * 10^5)
(7 * 4) * 10^(3 + 5)
28 * 10^8
28 = 2.8 * 10^1
(2.8 * 10^1)(10^8)
2.8 * 10^(1 + 8)
2.8 * 10^9

---------------------------------

2.)
(1/3)x^2 = 48
x^2 = 144
x = -12 or 12

---------------------------------

3.) Are you sure you don't me
x^2 + 6x - 7 = 0
(x + 7)(x - 1) = 0
x = -7 or 1

if not, then

x^2 + 6x + 7 = 0
x = (-b ± sqrt(b^2 - 4ac))/2a
x = (-6 ± sqrt(6^2 - 4(1)(7)))/(2(1))
x = (-6 ± sqrt(36 - 28))/2
x = (-6 ± sqrt(8))/2
x = (-6 ± sqrt(4 * 2))/2
x = (-6 ± 2sqrt(2))
x = -3 ± sqrt(2)
x = -3 - sqrt(2) or -3 + sqrt(2)

---------------------------------------------

4.) If by this you mean
(5t^4 - 6) - (8t^3 - 4) + (6t + t^3)
5t^4 - 6 - 8t^3 + 4 + 6t + t^3
5t^4 + (-8 + 1)t^3 + 6t + (-6 + 4)
5t^4 + (-8 - (-1))t^3 + 6t - 2
5t^4 - 7t^3 + 6t - 2

-------------------------------------------
(2x^2 - 4)^2
(2x^2 - 4)(2x^2 - 4)
4x^4 - 8x^2 - 8x^2 + 16
4x^4 - 16x^2 + 16
